Author: Jorie Goins

Jorie is a writer and graduate of Northwestern University who currently lives in Chicago, Ill. A journalist by day and dancer by night, Jorie is also the founder and blogger-in-chief of DanceTopia, which she hopes will serve as a digital dance hub where knowledge and passion collide. When she isn't writing or taking dance classes Jorie can be found reading, binge watching documentaries on Youtube ("Behind the Music" and "E! True Hollywood Story" are among her favorites), or trying out a new recipe from Pinterest.

Better late than never! The best parts of my attempt at @missymisdemeanorelliott and @itsbankhead’s #cooloffchallenge 🔥🔥🔥 it’s been a min since I did full out hip hop. But I needed the release and joy this brought me!
Happy #nationaltapdanceday from my happy feet to yours!! 💃🏾💃🏾
#TBT I posted this and archived it a while ago, because I hated the way I looked. 🙈🙈🙈🙈 But I recently went through my old photos and found it again and, considering that this was only my second heels class EVER, I was actually doing pretty good and serving a lil’ body (no face, I was too nervous for that). I usually only take heels during my off-season to avoid any injuries when I have a show coming up. So my progress in the genre has been slow because even though I enjoy it, I’m not consistent in my training. But maybe (you know, once #quarantineandchill ends) it’s time for me to get a better pair of heels, jump in and just dance (oh and finally start physical therapy🙃)! What do y’all think? 👣@torrinclifton_94 🎶: Emotion by Mariah Carey (Also no idea why the audio is jacked up)
